Lorna Jean Reece Ford age 82, born December 28, 1940, in Telluride, Colorado to John David and Goldie Mary Porterfield Reece. She was the youngest of 6 children. Preceded in death by her husband Elden, her father and mother, sisters Ethel Jewel Carlyle, MaryAnne Teuscher, brothers, Fred, George and Raymond. Passed away peacefully in her sleep October 17, 2023.

Lorna was born and raised in Telluride, Colorado. She went from kindergarten to the 12th grade in the same school building. She was active in volleyball, basketball, gymnastics, played the flute, was drum major, worked on the school paper, yearbook staff and was a cheerleader for two years. Growing up in Telluride was a wonderful experience, it was like stepping back in time, at that time it was very small mining town. She graduated in 1959 and moved to Salt Lake City to attend beauty college.

Lorna met Elden C. Ford at an Election Night Dance and they were married on April 22, 1961, their union was later solemnized in the Provo Utah, Temple. Two children include son Mark (Jodi) Ford, Santaquin, grandchildren Justin, Merrilee, Jacob and Malinda Ford and a daughter Pamela (Shawn) Foster, Nephi. Grandchildren Joshua (Taylor), Jeremy, Megan (Jordan Ozosky) and Olivia Foster. Great grand-children Myles, Jaxon, Owen.

Lorna served for many years in the community (PTA) and in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in cub scouts and she especially served in Young Women’s and Girls Camp. Her family was her dearest possession. Grandchildren will always remember their birthday day spent with Grandma and the way she made each holiday special. Christmas Eve was always the best with new pajamas and an ornament for the tree.

We express our deepest thanks to Seasons of Santaquin, Bonnie and all those who helped mom with such love and compassion. Special thanks to her dear friend, Marva.

A visitation will be held Friday October 20, 2023, from 9:30 10:30 am with funeral service beginning at 11:00 am at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem. Condolences may be shared online with family at www.walkersanderson.com.
