1944 — 2024

Connie Kaye Lewis Fish was born July 7th, 1944, to Boyd Reed and Bernice Maxwell Lewis in Heber City Utah. She passed away surrounded by family on Tuesday April 2nd, in Mapleton Utah. She was an only child for 10 years before her parents were blessed with three additional children Dixie Wood (Springville UT), Tonya Ercanbrack (Orem UT), and Jeffrey Lewis (Idaho Falls, ID). Connie had a vivid imagination as a child as she dreamed of being a famous dancer/performer.

Connie was a social butterfly who could carry on a conversation with anyone. She loved being the center of attention throughout her childhood and could strike up a conversation with complete strangers. The gift of gab she was a gift she was blessed with. She was active in many clubs and pageants in her teen years and was voted Heber City’s FFA Queen. She graduated from Wasatch High School in 1962 and attended Brigham Young University that fall semester where she would continue her studies for the next four years.

On August 26th, 1965, she married Leon Elliott Fish from St. George Utah. His family moved to the Heber Valley shortly after he graduated from high school in 1960. They met just before his service of a two and a half-year mission in Montevideo Uruguay from 1962-1964. They wrote throughout his mission and dated for a year after his return before being married in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Leon graduated from BYU in 1967 and began immediate employment with the FBI. Their professional career began in Conoco VA and later would live in San Antonio and Austin TX, Miami FL, San Juan PR, Safford and Mesa AZ, before retiring in 2003. They moved to Springville Utah in 2005 to be closer to family.

Their oldest son Ryan and second son Brandon were born while living in Miami FL, and their youngest and only daughter Shannan was born while residing in Safford AZ.

Connie was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many callings of service throughout her life and was blessed by many who knew her. She was employed by the Mesa Public School System for many years while living in Arizona and loved working with elementary school children as a reading specialist.

Connie’s passion was pouring her love and energy into her children and grandchildren. She never missed an opportunity to support them in whatever musical, sporting event, or play they were involved in. Her love for her family was a great blessing to her posterity!

The past two years she resided in Spring Gardens assisted living facility in Mapleton Utah. The family wishes to share their heart-felt gratitude for the love and care she received there. Connie is preceded in death by her husband Leon, her parents Boyd and Bernice Lewis. She is survived by her 3 siblings and her 3 children: Ryan (Tiffany) of Springville UT, Brandon (Kristin) of Orem UT, and Shannan (Spencer) Hinckley of Norman OK, along with 12 grandchildren.
