Glen Douglas Hooley

Apr 17, 2024

1945 – 2024

Heaven got a little bigger on April 15th. Glen Douglas Hooley passed away peacefully surrounded by his family after a short struggle with Hodgkin Lymphoma.

Doug was born November 26, 1945, to Glen and Mary Lou. He grew up in lower Lindon. He was as a farm boy, a baseball player, and a mischief maker. He graduated from Pleasant Grove High School — a Viking through and through.

He married his childhood sweetheart, Jerri. They shared a life full of love and laughs for 62 glorious years. You could catch them at high school sporting events or drinking a diet coke and eating a candy bar in the mountains.

Doug cherished his family. He shared his love of sports, hunting, fishing, and camping with them. He was always in the stands, bleachers, or auditorium watching his kids, grandkids, or great grandkids doing the things they loved.

You couldn’t find a harder work than Doug. He was a union man. He spent 38 years working in sheet metal after finishing his associate degree at Utah Valley Tech.

He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served quietly as a home teacher and stake sports director. He and his wife also served as service missionaries for the seminary program.

His family was his pride and joy. He is survived by his wife, Jerri; his children and their spouses, Doug (JoLynn), Gina (Waymon), Darren (Kelly), and Donnell (Heather); 13 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and his brothers, Laroy and Roland. Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Mary Lou; brother, Ruland; and grandson, Brad Newman.

A Viewing will be held Friday evening, April 19th from 6:00 -8:00 pm at the Timpanogos 3rd Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 425 East 500 North, Pleasant Grove, Utah. Funeral Services will be held Saturday morning, April 20th at 11:00 am at the same location with a Viewing held prior from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
