Bobby Gail Perry (Bob) was born May 5th 1932 in Provo, Utah. He came to the end of his earthly life and returned home to his Father on Sunday, December 22nd 2024. He was the last of four children born to Darwin Harding and America De St. Jeor Perry. After graduating from Provo High School in 1950, Bob joined the US Army where he served in Korea from 1951 to 1954. After his discharge from the Army, he married Vernita Cannon from Culver City, California on February 5th 1955 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they had 6 children. Bob worked for the Provo City Fire Department for over 30 years. He served as Lieutenant, Captain, Fire Inspector, Fire Marshall, Battalion Chief and State Arson Investigator. He also worked as a General Contractor. He later married Mary Louise Clark from Provo. They were sealed in the Provo Temple on June 17th 1983. They lived in Provo and also Woodland Hills, Utah. Bob and Mary had the opportunity to serve LDS Missions. They served in Vladivostok Russia, Yerevan Armenia, West Virginia, and also a Humanitarian Church Service Mission. Bob served in many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints including in the Provo and Payson Temples. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Melvin and Dean, his sister, Norma, and his daughter, Suzanne, and a grandson, Timothy Perry. He is survived by his wife, Mary, and 5 of his 6 children: Janette Perry, Darla (Tom) Turner, Mark Cannon Perry, Cathi Lyn (Charles) Penrod, and Cheri Ann Lechtenberg. Mary’s five children: Steve Bown, Barbara Peterson, Laurie Ivey, Scott Bown, and Julianne Bown. 33 grandchildren and 54 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, December 30, 2024 at the Grandview 18th Ward Chapel, 1260 West 1150 North, Provo, Utah. The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30 am prior to services. Interment, Provo City Cemetery Bob requests no flowers—please pay it forward by donating to the LDS Missionary fund or Humanitarian Fund.
