Gregory G Lewis “Lew”

1950 – 2024

Gregory G Lewis “Lew”, 73, passed away February 6, 2024 surrounded by his loving and devoted family.

Lew was born June 14, 1950 in Heber City Utah to Delpha Mitchell Ellis and Garth Lewis. He grew up in Orem, Utah and attended schools there. He was a proud Orem High Tiger. He attended BYU and in his later years supported and enjoyed watching their many athletic sports teams. He especially enjoyed playing and watching football. One of his favorite things in life was being involved with coaching his son and watching him develop in sports.

He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission. He loved working with the youth in the church and served in many callings.

Lew loved his country and served in the Utah National Guard.

He married his “Redwoman”, Mary Lynn, in 1973 in the Salt Lake Temple. They later had four children. He loved being a father and took his role of fatherhood very seriously. He valued hard work and education and sacrificed so he could pay for his children’s education.

Lew was proceeded in death by his Parents, Garth Lewis and Delpha Mitchell Ellis, his brothers, Stuart and Kelly Lewis, and his Father and Mother-in-law, Norman and Marilyn Mooney.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Lynn, his children, Hillary (Skyler) Sisson, Whitney (Calvin) Whitehead, Audrey (Daniel) Limb, Levi (Lindy) Lewis, Michael (Kate) Savio, his nine grandchildren, his siblings, in-laws and lots of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at 11:00 am, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Chapel 762 E 1200 N Orem, Utah 84097. A visitation will be held prior to the funeral Services at 10:00 am.
