Alfred “Bud” Miller, age 81, passed away on February 8, 2024, in Provo, Utah.

Alfred “Bud” was born to Martin John and Ila Jane Miller on August 7, 1942, in Ogden, Utah. He was the third, in a family of four. After his parents died, he moved to Lehi when he was 12 years old and has been a longtime resident since.

While living on the farm, he learned to love hunting, the outdoors, and anything to do with wildlife. While growing up his “pets” included a fox, hawks, ducks, geese, skunks, squirrels, snakes, dogs, and his beloved horse Boygul.

On May 31, 1962, he graduated from Lehi High School. He was a member of the Future Farmers of America where he learned to weld. With some additional training and some fine-tuning of his skills welding became his lifetime occupation.

In 1964, he was proud to serve his country where he was originally stationed in Fort Ord, California. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

He loved his home and property in Lehi. He made friends easily and enjoyed visiting and having coffee with his friends which many became lifetime friends.

He is survived by his three daughters, two sons, one stepson, two stepdaughters, eleven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and step-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers Frank and Dee, sister Dorothy, wife Mary, one stepson, his foster parents Stan and Beth Shelley and his beloved dog, Love This Lady.

A funeral service including an open time for family and friends to share their memories of Alfred (Bud) Miller will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024, at the Wing Mortuary located at 118 East Main Street, Lehi, Utah. A viewing will precede the funeral from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. with the services beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at the Lehi City Cemetery with full military honors.
