1930 – 2024

Carol Louise Greaves was born on December 12, 1930 in Santaquin, Utah, to Jane Louise Blain and Wallace P. Greaves. She attended elementary school in Santaquin and graduated from Payson High School. Carol married Lynn E. Boyle, and they built their home in Payson. They were the parents of five children. Carol was a work-at-home mother, raising her children and producing elegant draperies for Auerbach’s Department Store in SLC. Carol enjoyed cooking, canning, fishing, camping, and golfing. Carol and Lynn later divorced.

After her youngest child died in infancy, Carol returned to college at BYU. She received both Bachelor of Science and Master of Communication Rehabilitation Degrees in five years. For over 30 years, she taught special education. First in Eureka, Utah (Tintic Public Schools, K-12), West Jordan High School, and Blackfoot Idaho Middle School. She made lasting impressions on her students and also made huge differences in so many of their lives.

Carol married Thomas A. Yadon, and they made their homes in Pleasant Grove, Utah, and Chubuck, Idaho. They enjoyed landscaping their yards, traveling the world, and especially enjoyed going to mountain man rendezvous. After her retirement from teaching, they found their slice of heaven in Nehalem, Oregon. They loved working on their home, visiting the ocean, exploring new places, eating out, attending various Christian churches, daily Bible-studies, playing cards with friends and family, and caring for each other as they grew older.

Carol is predeceased by her children: Christine Key, Brad Lynn Boyle, Stacey Holcomb, and Wayne Reed Boyle; and by her siblings; Verl Dene Peery and Wallace Blain Greaves. She is survived by her husband of 43 years Thomas Yadon; sister Joyce Valdez; daughter Toni (Marc) Demers; step-children Thomas Yadon, Jr., Warren Yadon, and Valerie (John) Shell; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Carol died in her home in Nehalem on January 17, 2024 from dementia and multiple strokes. She requested that no services be held.
