David Gordon Davies

Beloved husband, father, and grandfather, David Gordon Davies (93), passed away on January 17, 2024. The only child of Arthur Davies and Elizabeth Ann (Annie) Hall, he grew up in Abertillery, Wales. In 1958, he was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

In 1961 Gordon immigrated to the U.S. to attend BYU. There he met Karen Ann Bauer and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple in 1970. He became a citizen of the U.S. in 1971. He received his H.B.A. in English in 1972. Gordon worked as a teacher and obtained several more degrees, culminating in his Ed.D. in Educational Administration in 1985. Over his career, he worked in primary, secondary, and higher education; lastly in special education at Orchard Elementary. He also served in many church callings in wards and stakes, at the MTC, as a missionary, and in the Mount Timpanogos Temple.

Gordon is survived by his wife, Karen, and his three children, Katrina (Jared) Ross, Kendell (Kim) Davies, and Kirsten (James) Bradley. He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren, Kyle, Kalliandra, Kamryn, Atticus, Violet, Khloe, Felix, Judson, Tabitha, Kole, and June. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Annie. Gordon was a hard-working man, committed to bettering himself and helping others. A viewing and funeral will be held on Thursday, January 25. Details are available at olpinmortuary.com.
