Peter Engel
Peter (Pete) Michael Engel beloved husband, father, and grandfather died peacefully at home on July 9th, after losing his fight with cancer. Pete battled multiple illnesses including various cancers for many years and through it all he still loved drinking coffee and eating good food.
Pete was born on January 31, 1942, Germany. He moved to Utah when he was 10 years old and graduated from East High School. Pete married the love of his life, Jacqueline (Jackie) and together they built a life and raised four children in Orem. Pete and Jackie owned a photography studio where they worked side by side for many years. Pete was a Master Photographer and traveled the world to create his prized pieces. He won multiple awards and gained national recognition for his awe-inspiring photos. Pete was also a crane operator for Geneva Steel and told stories of his days of being on the crane until the end.
Pete is survived by his wife of over 60 years Jackie, his children Peter Jr., John (Melissa) and Suzanne (Sam Clark), six grandchildren, one great granddaughter and his precious pug and sidekick, Jewel.
Pete’s kindness and outgoing personality will not be forgotten, he remained pleasant and kind throughout his life and in honor of that, we would like to thank all the incredible teams and individuals that helped Pete continue his journey in life. We want to give a special thanks to the hospice team. They worked so hard to make his last days peaceful. Pete will be buried next to his son Jason in the Orem cemetery.
Services will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church 300 E. 11800 S. Draper on July 19th, at 10:30 a.m.
