JeNeal Miller

Jul 28, 2024

JeNeal Nicholl Miller passed away in Provo, Utah on Pioneer Day, July 24, 2024. JeNeal was born on April 28, 1945 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Frank Nicholl and Lilly Bawden Nicholl. She married Harold “Hal” Lee Miller, Jr. in 1969 and they had eight children: Jason, Dylan, Derik, Stuart, Eliza, Melissa, Joanna, and Jeff. JeNeal is survived by her husband, 8 children and their beloved spouses, 27 grandchildren, and sister Marcella “Marci” Camp.

JeNeal loved to read and shared this love with her family and thousands of students over the years. She graduated from BYU with a degree in English and worked as a teacher and a children’s librarian. She believed in allowing children to stay up as late as they wanted if they were reading. JeNeal had an amazing ability to focus on her children and grandchildren individually, encouraging their wide range of hobbies, interests, and talents. She was involved with Daughters of Utah Pioneers, and she served all her life in the Latter-day Saint wards and stakes in which she lived. She traveled the world with Hal and loved to visit her children and grandchildren. JeNeal was a gifted artist, working in needle and thread for decades and producing an astonishing body of work which has been shared around the world. Today her art is on display on the beds and walls of her children, grandchildren, neighbors, and friends.

JeNeal was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Karren Guymon. A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 1, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Berg Mortuary, 185 E. Center St., Provo, Utah. A second viewing will be held on Friday, August 2, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the church at 1315 E. 900 S. in Provo, Utah, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. One of JeNeal’s final cross stitch projects reads, “GOD LOVES YOU, AND SO DO I!” A fitting final testament of the life she led.
