Iris Marie Crisson Coleman

Iris Marie Crisson Coleman, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother completed her mortal journey June 13, 2024.

Marie was born on December 14, 1932, to Price Wesley Crisson and Mayme Louise Hollifield in Marion, North Carolina as the second oldest child of five and oldest daughter of four.

On November 27, 1957, Marie married her eternal companion Veldon Eugene Coleman Sr. in the Salt Lake City Temple. The two met while serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Western States Mission.

The pair quickly became a family of seven with five rambunctious children as they settled in Orem, Utah.

During her time on earth, Marie was known as a fabulous cook and baker, making delicious treats and cakes for all those whom she loved for their birthdays and special occasions, showcasing her ability of Christlike service.

Marie is preceded in death by her parents, elder brother Junior, loving husband Veldon Sr., daughters Pamela and Cristee, and grandson Conrad. She is survived by her children Veldon Jr. (Cheryl), Kevin, Edward (Steven Mills), and Gina Coleman, 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on June 21, 2024 starting at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Church located at 670 East 800 North in Orem, Utah. Friends and family are welcome for a viewing on June 20 from 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. and 9:45 a.m. – 10:45 a.m before the funeral service. Marie will be buried at the American Fork Cemetery with her eternal companion.
