1954 — 2024

Evelyn Marti Reynolds, age 69 of Mapleton, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2024, following a battle with three bouts of cancer over 20 years. The second of five siblings, Evelyn was born in Richland, Washington, on March 31, 1954. Preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Bertie Marti, and brother David Marti.

Evelyn married the love of her life, Gary Reynolds in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on August 16, 1974. She is survived by her husband, Gary, sister Marie Spencer (Tim), brothers Kenneth Marti (Akiko) and Steven Marti (Katrina). She is the proud mother of two daughters, Tricia Humberstone (Chad), Melissa Fry (Gary), and 9 grandchildren.

Evelyn had a talent and passion for dancing. Not only did she teach dance classes at the University of Utah and her home studio, but she also enjoyed dancing with Gary whenever they had the opportunity. She was also a very talented artist, creating hundreds of pieces of artwork which she lovingly gifted to those around her. Her paintings could be seen in several art studios in California. Her favorite places were ocean beaches, and forested mountains. Much to her husband’s chagrin, she craved camping opportunities where she could seek the silence of nature.
