Paul was born on April 29, 1935, to Charles Kenneth and Virginia Jespersen Jordan in Santa Monica, California. He grew up in Santa Monica and Parker, Arizona. He attended the University of Redlands before enrolling at Brigham Young University, where he earned a BA in Youth Leadership.

Private graveside services will be held, with interment in the Orem City Cemetery.
