Charles Bardsley
1948 – 2024
LAWRENCE – Charles Roy Bardsley, 76, from Lawrence, Utah peacefully passed on to his new adventure on October 19, 2024 at the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah surrounded by family. He woke up to a bright and sunny day and said, “it’s a good day to die,” and he did.
Charles was born May 1, 1948 in Gunnison, Utah. He grew up and spent his childhood and adolescent years in Provo, Utah graduating from Provo High School in 1966. After graduation, he fulfilled a childhood dream of working in Yellowstone National Park for the summer. In 1967, he enlisted with the US Army and proudly served his country overseas in Germany and Vietnam and later in Phoenix, Arizona before being honorably discharged in 1971. After his military service, he attended Utah Technical College in Provo, Utah and graduated in June of 1973 with an Associate Degree in Electrical Automation. While in college he met the love of his life, Christine Reynolds and was married on March 16, 1973. Upon graduation they moved to Price, Utah to start their careers. Charles became an electrician for the coal mining industry and later went into technical sales for Triune Inc. and Industrial Mine Supply before starting his own business Mine Systems CO. in 1996 which has flourished.
He loved the outdoors and was a Dedicated Hunter and fisherman. He always said, “Nature is my chapel!” He enjoyed working hard in his yard and fields and taking care of his livestock. He enjoyed family gatherings, taking trips, and watching BYU and college sports.
His family was very important to him and was blessed with three children and eight grandchildren from his 45-year marriage to Christine. He often expressed how proud he was of his family. Charles was fortunate to have his entire family close by which enabled continued outings and shared holidays.
He is survived by his true love, Christine Bardsley; children, Matthew Charles (Kadena) Bardsley and their children, James, Jazmin, Brandon, and Ethan, Brian Keith Bardsley and his children, Katee and Oliver, and Alisha Bardsley and her children, Bodhi and Connor; and his sister, Mary (Brent) Pitcher. Charles is also survived by a very large extended family on the Bardsley and Reynolds sides that were very important to him throughout his life and he loved them all.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Maylin Virgil and Eunice Elizabeth Deakin Bardsley; and his sister, Carol Ann Bardsley Moyes.
Charles will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
