Mary Anne Harding Marrott
May 12, 1935 – August 10, 2025
Mary Anne Marrott, age 90, cherished wife, mother and grandmother passed away on August 10, 2025 in Millcreek, Utah following a short illness. She was born on May 12, 1935 in Provo, Utah to Elva Prows Harding and Eldred Samuel Harding.
Mary Anne grew up in Provo, Utah with her parents and sisters, Shirley and Marjorie. She was pre-deceased by her sister Helen.
Mary Anne met the love of her life, James Eugene Marrott, when she was fifteen years old. Mary Anne and Jim felt blessed to be together for 75 years. They were sealed together on February 10, 1956, in the Salt Lake Temple. They were married for 69 years and looked forward to celebrating their upcoming 70th wedding anniversary.
Mary Anne’s life was full of joy and adventure. She loved her horse Kolo, gardening, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Mary Anne lived a purposeful life filled with love and service to her husband Jim, and her children. Mary Anne was courageous, independent and at times spunky as she supported Jim and their children during his many years serving in the Air Force. Moving frequently, she made each home beautiful, welcoming and a safe haven.
She loved serving others whether it was cutting and styling hair or delivering needed meals and flowers.
Mary Anne and Jim served a two-year mission together at the Family History Center in Salt Lake City. She served as a counselor to the mission president’s wife and found great happiness in her mission service. Her example taught her family the lessons of unwavering faith and the power of prayer during life’s trials and challenges.
Mary Anne is survived by her husband Jim, her children, Jeffrey James Marrott, (Shanin), Jessica Marrott Hook, (Steve), John Harding Marrott, (Cyndi) and five grandsons.
We are forever grateful for her life, example and blessed beyond measure to call her our wife, mother and grandmother.
