Melvin Deloy Pack

Jan 2, 2025

1936 – 2024

Our loved Melvin Deloy Pack passed away peacefully in Provo, Utah surrounded by family on December 20. He was born May 23rd, 1936, in LA (near their family greenhouse business, which served the LA and Hollywood areas). He fostered his natural love of bird-watching by building a home-made watch station, and collecting nests. He continued these loves throughout his life, gardening, farming, and bird watching. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Mexico and again later in Central America, with his wife, Alison Turner, from Scotland. They met in Austria during his graduate studies, and fell in love after learning they both enjoyed outdoors. After studying Middle Eastern languages and history, he taught Hebrew at BYU. He loved the Church and the Book of Mormon. He was a kind, hard working, dutiful husband, father, and friend. He is survived by his wife, children (Nikkala, Benjamin, Jonathan, Roger, Carolyn), and grandchildren. Love you Dad, miss you, but look forward to seeing you again! “…Yet in my flesh shall I see God.” (Job 19:26) Funeral Jan. 4 10AM premierfuneral.com/obituaries/Melvin-Pack
