Linda Norton Campbell, age 78, passed away peacefully on January 7th, 2025, surrounded by loved ones, in Provo, Utah. She was born on February 27th, 1946, in Havre, Montana. She attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho, in the fall of 1964 and earned her Associate’s Degree. She transferred to BYU Provo in 1966, where she studied Physical Education. Linda was a pillar in the Orem/Provo community, working or volunteering in numerous civic, newspaper, healthcare, and educational positions over the past 55 years. She was a teacher at Independence High School, PTA president at Orem Junior High, and Alpine School Board member from 1986-1998. In 2003, she and Les received the Provo-Orem Chamber of Commerce Community Service Award, and in 2007 were awarded the Citizens of the Year award. Linda and Les served the people of the Pacific Islands (Tonga) on special assignment from 1978-1979 and served as missionaries in the Provo, Utah Mission from 2009-2010 for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Linda has spent the last 21 years as a SCERA Board member and full-time house manager, working with volunteers and enjoying the free popcorn.

Linda is survived by her husband, Lester Deuel Campbell, her siblings Barbara Brown, of Orem; Don E. Norton, also of Orem; and Dorothy (E. Markham) Bench, of White Plains, New York. She is survived by her four children: Aaron (Lauren) Campbell, Salt Lake City; Laura Campbell, West Jordan; Spencer (Stephanie) Campbell, South Jordan; and Megan (John) Carter, Orem; 14 grandchildren and many beloved in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews who will forever cherish her.

Linda was preceded in death by her beloved parents, a brother Gayle Evan Norton, a daughter, Holly Ann Campbell, and a granddaughter, Victoria Engler Campbell.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Linda’s life at her viewing and funeral. The viewing will be held from 9:00-11:30 am on Saturday, January 18th with the funeral to follow at 12:00 pm, both at the LDS Church at 195 West 300 South, Orem.

She and her husband Les have asked that, in lieu of flowers, you consider making a donation to SCERA’s “Linda Campbell Volunteer Fund” at scera.org/donate.

Though Linda is no longer with us, her love and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.”
