Dale Sumerix

Jul 15, 2025

Dale Thomas Sumerix was born February 12, 1940 to Jerald and Wanda Sumerix in Lansing, Michigan. He lived a full life surrounded by friends and family. As a young man he played every sport he could, fished at Derby Lake, and golfed with friends. He moved to Utah in his adult years and obtained his degree at BYU. His artistic talent brought joy to so many through his paintings and the architectural renderings he drew by hand. He shared his love for golf with friends, and many youth as a coach. His humor made those around him smile. Golfing with his son, teaching watercoloring to his daughters, listening to each of his grandchildren, and lunch with friends were some of his favorite things. Dale was proceeded in death by his son Mark Aaron Sumerix, his grandson Joseph Bret Gallacher, and his parents. He leaves behind his daughter Jennifer (Bret) Gallacher, daughter Sandy Sumerix, son Jeremy (Elizabeth) Sumerix, and daughter Heather Sumerix. As well as his grandchildren Katelyn and James Gallacher, Aaron (Kathryn), Dylan (Kylie), Morgan, Jayden, and Aspen Tippetts. Amelia and Zach Sumerix and Wyatt (Daisy) and Zadie Nielson. And his great grandchildren Claire and Tessa Tippetts. Dale will be laid to rest in the American Fork Cemetery. The family has chosen to celebrate his life in private. In lieu of flowers Dale would tell his friends and family to spend time outdoors with each other in laughter and love.
