Loretta Joyce Rieske McClure, age 90, of Provo, Utah, passed away on October 10, 2025.

She was born on March 4, 1935 in Provo, Utah to the late Max Rieske and Hortense Peterson Rieske. She was the oldest of 3 children. She married Benny Rex McClure September 4, 1953 in Provo, Utah.

She grew up on a small farm in Provo, Utah that sold produce to the surrounding stores and people that lived in town. After graduating from Provo High School, she worked at Barbizon of Utah, Fristi & Company of Utah and FHP Medical Clinic in the childcare unit. She was known by all as Grandma. She was a master gardener and loved working in her garden. Her garden was judged as the best mini garden by The Daily Herald Newspaper. Her yard was always beautiful, well maintained with lots of flowers. She loved to share the produce from her garden with friends and family. She was an excellent cook. She collected all kinds of recipes. She taught a lot of people how to cook and make homemade bread. Her hobbies consisted of trying out new recipes. She was an avid reader and enjoyed a variety of books and the morning newspaper. She loved being in the mountains on picnics and camping. She was a caregiver to her late husband. Her greatest source of pride and happiness was her family.

She is survived by her two loving daughters, Barbara McClure Bushnell and Sandra McClure. Loretta’s legacy also lives on through her five grandchildren: Aaron Bushnell, John Bushnell, Kristen Bushnell, Greg Bushnell, and Brad McClure. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Aiden McClure and Evelyn McClure.

Loretta will be remembered for her strong spirit and the love she poured into her family and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 17, 2025 at the Provo City Cemetery, 610 South State Street, Provo, Utah. Condolences and memories may be shared online at www.bergmortuary.com.
