Dwanna Lee Riddle

Our dear friend, aunt, and sister, Dwanna Lee Riddle, passed away peacefully at home September 18, 2025, having lived a wonderful, and giving life for 88 years. Dwanna was born on September 17, 1937, in Dinkeyville, a small town near Bingham Canyon to Weldo Dee and Mary Lucille Miller Riddle. Dwanna was the youngest in a family of three girls and one boy.

When Dwanna attended grade school in Taylorsville, Valley Junior High, and Cyprus High School. Dwanna attended Brigham Young University graduating in three years with a double major in Physical Education and History. She worked at Dixon Jr. High School teaching Physical Education for three years then taught World and U.S. History at Provo High School for 32 years. Dwanna received Teacher of the Year for Provo High School and District, the Golden Bulldog Award and received the Golden Apple Award twice. After her retirement, Dwanna supervised student teachers for Brigham Young University for 15 years, finishing her 50-year career of teaching.

Dwanna served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for 18-months in the North British Mission at the age of 24 in 1961.

Dwanna enjoyed traveling, gardening, fishing and spending time with family at her cabin in Wildwood in the Provo Canyon. She was a masterful seamstress, quilter, crocheter and her embroidery was exquisite.

Dwanna was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many capacities, Stake Young Women’s counselor, Primary teacher, sports director, and taught class comprised of individuals with learning delays in Relief Society which she loved.

Dwanna is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Evelyn Maurine and Donna Colleen, and brother Glen Dee Riddle. She leaves behind her dear friend, Betty who exemplifies the true meaning of Christ-like friendship.

Dwanna’s funeral services will be held on September 25, at 11:00 a.m. at Grandview 6th Ward chapel, 1600 N. 1880 W. in Provo, Utah. A visitation will be held an hour before services in the Relief Society Room. Interment will be at Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. 10600 South in Sandy, Utah.

The family would like to thank the Bright Star and Hospice nurses who were so kind and attentive to Dwanna’s care. They are so appreciative of all of them.
