Robert (Bob) A. Edmunds
Robert (Bob) A. Edmunds, born in Waltham, Massachusetts in 1934, passed away after a life rich in adventure, faith, and family. As a youth, he earned his Eagle Scout and joined the Order of the Arrow. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany, where he joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and met his wife, Gerda. They were married for 67 years and raised five children. Their family now includes 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Bob traveled extensively–visiting the Soviet Union, Africa, Israel, Egypt, and central Europe. A passionate bicyclist, he took annual trips with friends and completed a cross-country ride at age 62.
A descendant of Mayflower pilgrim John Alden, Bob was an avid family historian. He and Gerda served a mission in Frankfurt, Germany, teaching genealogical research. He served as a temple sealer for 24 years in the Boston, Provo, and Orem Temples.
Bob was known for his tall tales, love of nature, and collecting everything from fossils to figurines. He was known by all as a good man–curious, kind, and full of faith.
A graveside service will be held at the Provo City Cemetery Saturday, September 27 at 1PM. More information is available at www.SundbergOlpinMortuary.com.
