Thera was born on November 21, 1931, in Fairview, UT, to Marion Jehu Brady, Jr., and Rintha Maria (Christensen) Brady, the sixth of seven children. All of her siblings preceded her in death.

Thera is survived by her four children: Mark Johnson, Reno, Leslie Richman, Orem, Michelle Cooper, Frisco, TX, and David Johnson, Kyiv, Ukraine and 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
