At the age of 16 Kim met her sweetheart Jay R. Bennett age 21. Kim was walking home from school and he stopped to offer her a ride and that was their love story beginning. Jay R and Kim courted for a year and they married March 30,1979 at the home of Kim’s parents in Alpine, Utah. As their first year of marriage bloomed so did their family when they welcomed Brandy Lynn Childress (Bennett) on March 14, 1980 the first of their 2 daughters. A quick 1 year, 1 month, and 1 day later they welcome their second daughter, Molly Anne Bennett born on April 15, 1981. Their family stopped their until Brandy restarted the family’s growth cycle welcoming Dakota, then 18 months later Stetsan, (a rainbow baby) and 3 years later Justin and lastly came Dallas. But this wasn’t the end for her growth cycle her second daughter then gave her 2 more grandchildren to fill her heart with joy and love Joshua and Karri. Kim loved being a nana and grandmother more than most of the things she accomplished in her life, except for her best friend Duke loyal companion to her for 23 years.

Kim worked for years as a CNA in various care facilities and in home health care facilities as well. Kim also worked as a waitress of and on and through her final years of working when she had to stop working for health reasons. Still years of time spent with her beloved grandchildren engulfed all off her time. Until 2017 when Kimberlee lost one of her grandchildren to whom she had a very special relationship and her health significantly declined. Kim was engaging and social, she loved people and helping others.

Kim had a very special way of capturing people’s hearts and was loved by many people whom she helped throughout her years, when Kim quit working she never truly quit working because she was helpful for many wayward youth throughout the years…. While maybe frustration boiled for Jay R always financially taking care of others offering them places to stay when they had nowhere to go or food to eat when they had nothing to eat, she did not have a lot but what she had she gladly always gave with her whole heart. Kim spent her final days in Kenmare North Dakota away from the love of her life enjoying her grandchildren and the next generation when Dallas gave her 2 intriguing granddaughters Hensley and Oakley.

Kim leaves behind a loving husband, Jay R. Bennett of Provo, Utah; daughters, Brandy Childress (Colby) and Molly Bennett; brother, Jeffrey Wilding (Janey); sister, Jennifer Trout (Stephen); grandchildren, Dakota Bennett, Dallas and Michael Schlosser, Justin and Kolee Childress, Bradlee Emery, Brooke, Dalton, Joshua, Karri; great grandchildren, Hensley and Oakley Schlosser.

She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, granddaughter, Stetsan Sierra Butler (Childress); three brothers-in-law, Aaron Bennett, Neal Bennett and Lynn Bennett, mother-in-law, Ethel Elizabeth Cardwell and father-in-law, Monte Robert Bennett.

Kim is loved by many and will truly be missed but it is believed she is happily reunited with her parents and granddaughter who she has missed dearly for her last 10 years of her life.

Kim will be missed most for her love of music and music trivia and her random exciting calls to test your music knowledge.
