Janice Young
June 10, 1937 – July 14, 2026
Provo — With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Janice Pauline Baker Young, known to her childhood friends and family as Mickey Baker. A lifelong resident of Provo, Utah, Janice passed away on July 14, 2026 at the age of 89 from injuries sustained after falling while watering her beloved flowers in her container garden. There seemed no better place for Janice to take her leave than in her garden close to her flowers.
A small memorial service was held on August 28, 2026 at Legacy Village Assisted Living in Provo, Utah followed by a private family graveside gathering on August 29, 2026 at Provo Cemetery. Janice was buried next to her long-missed husband, Dick, who passed away in 1999.
Those who wish to express their sympathy may consider planting a memorial tree which will not only help restore the forests but also recognize Janice’s love for all things that grew in her garden.
