Frederick “Fred” Bauernschmidt, 82, of Batavia, IL, passed away on January 28, 2026. Born in Baltimore, MD, to Frederick and Hale P. Bauernschmidt, he grew up in Alexandria, VA, and graduated from American University (1967).

In 1977, Fred married his wife, Sue. They lived in Colorado with their two children before settling in Batavia in 1989.

He is survived by his wife, Sue; daughter, Hallie (Craig); son, Fritz (Katelyn); and grandchildren, Liberty and Lincoln.

Services: Saturday, Feb. 28, at Calvary Episcopal Church, Batavia. Memorial Service at 11:00 AM; Open House Reception 12:30-2:30 PM.
