Bonnie Beardall
In Loving Memory
Our mom, Bonnie Dee Beardall, closed her eyes on earth and opened them in Heaven on the evening of February 19, 2026.
Our loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend is in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ, who now embraces her in His arms.
Bonnie Dee Wooley was born on November 7, 1950, to Owen and Neta Alvey Wooley. She was the younger half-sister to John A. King, who was 10 years her senior. Being the baby of the family, she was truly the “apple of their eye,” with her dark curly hair and infectious smile that could brighten any room.
Mom grew up in Orem surrounded by neighborhood friends. When school let out each afternoon, she and her friends could be found outside riding bikes, jumping rope, and playing Kick the Can until the sun went down. Summers were always spent in Boulder, Utah, where family lived. She often spoke of those treasured visits and how much she looked forward to them each year. This past fall, Mom took one last road trip to Boulder and vividly reminisced about the happy memories of her childhood.
When Mom was 10 years old, her father took a job constructing the Glen Canyon Dam, and the family moved to Page, Arizona. At the time, Page was a small housing community built for workers and their families. Mom quickly made new friends there, but she longed for the familiarity and comfort of home. When the dam project was completed, the family returned to their little house in Orem.
Her teenage years were filled with fond memories- listening to vinyl records, watching The Ed Sullivan Show on their black-and-white television, and sipping soda pop at Salmon Pharmacy’s fountain bar. After graduating from Orem High School in 1969, she met her forever sweetheart, J.D. Beardall. They were married on April 7, 1972, and soon began building a beautiful life together. They became the proud parents of Dustin, Mandy, and Whitney. Together, Mom and Dad loved, supported, and guided us to become independent, hardworking, and responsible adults- but more importantly, they taught us to love well.
Our mom was the heart of our home. She was thoughtful, creative, and endlessly fun. Holidays were her specialty. She decorated every corner of the house, prepared elaborate meals, delivered fresh-baked goodies, sewed costumes, handcrafted gifts, wrapped them beautifully, and topped each one with a perfectly tied bow. When it came to creating joy and magic for her family, she left no detail undone.
Once we were all in school, Mom took a part-time job as a teaching assistant at Orem Elementary. Her natural love for children and passion for teaching eventually led her to open a small preschool in her home in 1998. As word spread about “Miss Bonnie’s Preschool,” her tiny basement classroom quickly filled. She later accepted a full-time position as the preschool teacher at Lindon Elementary, where she continued to pour her heart into every child she taught.
For many years, Mom faithfully attended Fellowship Bible Church. As her trust in Jesus Christ deepened, she felt called to serve in the children’s ministry. Teaching Sunday school allowed her to combine her gift of educating children with her desire to glorify God and serve others. Over 28 years, Mom touched the lives of hundreds of students- teaching, encouraging, and loving each one as if they were her own.
While Mom was a terrific wife, amazing mother and outstanding teacher, she absolutely excelled at being a grandma. She wanted her grandchildren to experience everything life had to offer. She was always on the lookout for the next adventure, whether that meant a circus, a petting zoo, a baking day in the kitchen, or feeding ducks at the pond. Her laughter, warmth, and enthusiasm made even the simplest moments unforgettable. Her grandchildren brought immeasurable joy to her life- but that joy was returned to them tenfold.
Time may have dimmed many of Mom’s memories, but long before it did, she worked tirelessly to preserve ours. She snapped thousands of priceless photographs of the moments we shared and lovingly organized them into scrapbooks for us to treasure forever. What a precious and lasting gift she gave us.
Our parents were married for 52 wonderful years and were separated for 16 heartbreaking months after his passing. We can only imagine their joyful reunion- Dad welcoming Mom home with profound love and elation.
Mom leaves behind her son, Dustin (Ginger) Beardall; grandchildren Brayden, Tyrel, Tyler, and Sedona; daughter Mandy (Scott) Kiester; grandchildren Miranda, Ava, and Sadie; daughter Whitney (Shad) Hatfield; grandchildren Brinley and Chloe; nieces and nephews; and her loyal, lifelong friend, Claire Jones. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, J.D. Beardall; her parents, Owen and Neta Wooley; and her brother, John A. King.
Friends and family are invited to join us in sharing happy memories and celebrating Mom’s life on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 11:00 am at Utah Valley Mortuary, 1966 W. 700 N., Lindon, Utah. A Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at East Lawn Memorial Hills Cemetery.
Our family would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Covington Senior Living in Orem for the love, care, and friendship you offered our mom this past year.
