Baraboo — Phyllis Heggem Harrison, 85, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 5, 2026. She was born June 12, 1940.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Robert “Bob” Harrison; her children, Cheryllynn Wilkins (Steve), Richard Harrison, and Kathleen Freese, widow of the late Jeffrey Freese; her grandchildren, Sara Harrison, Amanda Rosenbrock (Dilynn), Jonathan Mullins, Katelynn Griffey (Ben), Ashley Neunreiter (Will), and Thomas Freese; and her great-grandchildren, Laney Harrison and Benjamin and Scarlett Rosenbrock.

She was preceded in death by her parents, W. Howard and Helen Heggem. After a difficult early childhood, she was adopted into the Heggem family, where she learned to sail and developed a lifelong love of the outdoors.

Phyllis earned a degree as an X-ray technician from William Jewell College. She and Bob were married in 1964 and lived in Arlington Heights, Illinois, for 50 years, spending many summers in Montello, Wisconsin, before moving to Baraboo, Wisconsin, in 2023.

Phyllis enjoyed music, the outdoors, Bible study, and spending time with friends and family. She shared her faith through music ministry in prisons and nursing homes and was a longtime member of Meadows Christian Fellowship Church in Rolling Meadows, Illinois.

Phyllis was a strong believer in Jesus Christ, and her faith and devotion to her family shaped her life.

Visitation will be held January 17, 2026, at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11 a.m. at Walnut Hill Bible Church in Baraboo, Wisconsin.
