An avid lover of the outdoors, he cherished the many hiking trips he shared with his son. Jerry was happiest when surrounded by the people he loved most. Jerry was also a talented cheesemaker–a craft that he took great joy in sharing with friends and family alike.

He is deeply missed by his devoted wife, Susan Jackson Long; his son, Shannon (Ashley) Long; and his sister, Linda Davis. His legacy lives on through his seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Donald Long.
