Gary Royce Ridge

Gary Royce Ridge passed away on April 27, 2026, from Dementia. He was born on November 9, 1946, in Provo, Utah.

Gary grew up with strong roots and strong values, shaped by his parents, Royce Gerald Ridge and Carole Deene Snyder Ridge, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Julie Colledge, and his brother-in-law, Mike Roylance. He is survived by his wife, Judy Brimley Ridge; his daughter, Monica Riding (Troy Riding), Brian Ridge (Misti Ridge), Caroline Shoell (Cameron Shoell), Alisha Tanner (Javen Tanner), his brother, Greg Ridge; his sisters, Nancy Juggert (Jim Juggert), and Jill Roylance; and by 16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He dearly loved them and was so proud of each one!

Gary grew up in a loving family and was shaped by the values of hard work, faith, and education. He graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1965 and went on to attend Brigham Young University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Zoology. He later completed his education at the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco, CA, where he earned his degree in Podiatry. He then did a residency at Good Samaritan Hospital in Anaheim, CA. His commitment to learning and professional excellence became a defining part of his life and career.

Following his training, Gary practiced foot and ankle surgery as a Podiatrist in Orem, Utah and was Board Certified. He was respected for his skill, his steady manner, and the care he gave to those he served. Through his work, he brought relief, mobility and hope to countless people. He and his family lived in Pleasant Grove, Utah.

Gary was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and lived his religion sincerely and consistently. He served a full-time mission to Scotland, an experience that remained meaningful throughout his life. In his home ward and throughout his church service, he gave generously of his time and talents. He served in many callings, including Bishop, Bishop of a BYU Ward, Counselor in the Stake Presidency, and Stake President. He was known for his wisdom, humility and sincere love for others.

Gary enjoyed golf and was an avid golfer throughout much of his life. He was a member of the Alpine Country Club for almost 50 years, and the friendships and memories he formed there were an important part of his life.

He leaves behind a legacy of faith, family, and service that will continue to bless those who loved him. His life was a testament to perseverance, commitment, and love for others. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will remain a source of comfort and strength to his family and those who knew him.

An Evening Viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 5th, 2026, from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 825 Loader Ave., Pleasant Grove, Utah.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 6th at 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 825 Loader Ave, Pleasant Grove, Utah where A Viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:00-10:30 am.

Interment will follow at the Lindon City Cemetery.
