Bert Pierson Cundick
September 18, 1931 – August 23, 2026
Bert Pierson Cundick passed away August 23, 2026, at his home in Provo, Utah, at the age of 94. Raised in Sandy, Utah, he served a mission to Sweden, attended the University of Utah as an undergraduate and Masters student, and earned a Ph.D. in Psychology from Ohio State University. He spent 35 years on the BYU Clinical Psychology faculty, was a devoted husband to his wife Sylvia, and named his family his greatest accomplishment.
He is survived by his children Clay (Jean) Cundick, Kirt (Sheryl) Cundick, and Kristin (Mike) Croyle; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and his sister Carol (Grover) Hoopes.
A memorial service will be held September 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., 350 East 2950 North, Provo, Utah, followed by interment at Sandy City Cemetery, Sandy, Utah. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Nature Conservancy, Utah Wildlife Foundation, or The Wilderness Society.
