Susan was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She devoted her life to her family and found great joy in the people she loved. She cherished her children and grandchildren and was especially devoted to the love of her life, her husband, Richard “Dick” Goetz.

Susan was born in Lehi, Utah, on February 23, 1948, to Mickey and Shirley Taylor. She attended Pleasant Grove High School and was raised alongside her sisters and brother in Pleasant Grove. Pleasant Grove remained her home throughout her life. It was where she grew up, raised her children, built a life with her husband, and created countless memories with her family.

Susan met the love of her life, Richard “Dick” Goetz, in 1975. They loved each other for 20 years before tying the knot on August 14th 1995; in all, they were together for 41 years before Dicks passing in 2016. They shared a life filled with love, family, and many cherished memories. Dick remained the love of her life throughout their years together.

Six years ago, Susan suffered a stroke and fought through it with strength and determination. She was blessed to survive and continued to cherish the time she had with her family. Susan loved her children dearly, but her grandchildren were her greatest joy. She treasured every moment spent with them and took great pride in watching them grow and build lives of their own.

Susan passed away peacefully in her home on September 26, 2026, at the age of 78, with her family by her side. She is deeply loved by her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her kindness, love, and memories will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, and all those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Susan is survived by her children; Shelly McDade, Chad Nielson, Dusti Kennelly (Kekoa), Justin Goetz (Marcy), Jodi Huyboom, and Dianne Proctor; her sisters, Shelia Turner and Denise Scovel; and her grandchildren, Talyor Chynoweth (Dondy), Jordan Nielson (Kelsee), Clayton Nielson (Tyliegh), Riley Nielson, Jadee Thompson (Mckenzie), Dean Thompson (Rylie), Annistin Kennelly, Maddox Kennelly, Dillan Goetz, Jake Goetz, Mistie Paraspolo, Travis Proctor, Sammy Proctor, Bryson Kennelly (Sage), and Preston Kennelly (Aubree); and her many great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mickey and Shirley Taylor; her sisters, Linda Miller and Darlene Bezzant (Nile); her brother, Michael Taylor; her granddaughter, Hunter Sue Lowrey; and the love of her life, her husband, Richard “Dick” Goetz.

Her family finds comfort in knowing that Susan is now reunited with the loved ones who went before her. After a lifetime spent loving and caring for her family, she is once again with those she loved and missed. She will be deeply missed here on earth, but her family is grateful for the peace of knowing they will see her again.

A Viewing for Susan will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at Utah Valley Mortuary from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.
