Local young talent spreads holiday cheer at Zions Bank

More than 100 children from Ephraim Elementary helped ring in the holidays at Zions Bank, joining teachers, parents, and bank employees in the branch’s lobby for the annual “Lights On” ceremony.
EPHRAIM — The festive season kicked into high gear at Zions Bank as more than 100 students from Ephraim Elementary illuminated the holidays during the annual “Lights On” ceremony. The event, hosted in collaboration with teachers, parents, and bank employees, transformed the Ephraim branch’s lobby into a winter wonderland.
Fifth grade students from Ephraim Elementary took center stage as they adorned the Christmas tree inside Zions Bank’s Ephraim branch with their creative, handmade ornaments. The young carolers filled the air with holiday melodies, creating a joyful atmosphere that resonated throughout the community. As a token of appreciation, Zions Bank presented a contribution to Ephraim Elementary to further support the students’ educational endeavors.
The beautifully decorated tree, a testament to the students’ artistic talents, will be proudly displayed in the bank’s lobby throughout the holiday season. Nate Christensen, the manager of Zions Bank’s Ephraim branch, expressed the bank’s enthusiasm for this cherished tradition, stating, “We love this annual tradition because it gets us into the holiday spirit. We hope everyone in the community will enjoy the children’s ornaments as much as we do.”
Part of a broader initiative, more than 4,500 students from 82 elementary schools in Utah and Idaho are actively participating in the “Lights On” tree-trimming tradition. The tradition, now in its 51st year, invites students to craft vibrant decorations for Christmas trees displayed in Zions Bank branch lobbies. Some branches have extended the invitation to students from special-needs classes and Title 1 schools, ensuring an inclusive and heartwarming celebration of the season.
