Snow College Fine Arts Division kicks off a vibrant fall season

Snow College’s Fine Arts Division and the Eccles Center for the Performing Arts are bringing an exciting lineup of performances this October and November. Whether you’re a fan of choral music, jazz, theater, or improv comedy, there’s something for everyone to enjoy!
October highlights
Theater production: Jane Austen’s “Persuasion”
From Oct. 9-12 and 14-15, Snow College’s theater department presents “Persuasion,” adapted from Jane Austen’s beloved final novel by Melissa Leilani Larson. Directed by Jenn Chandler, this production offers a fresh, theatrical take on a classic story of love and second chances. Performances are at 7:30 p.m., with a special matinee on Oct. 12. The play is recommended for all audiences, with tickets priced at $10 for adults and $8 for youth and seniors.
Faculty Recital
Don’t miss the chance to hear Snow College’s outstanding music faculty perform on Oct. 23 at 7:30 p.m. Admission to this recital is free, making it a perfect opportunity to enjoy an evening of high-caliber music with family and friends.
String-a-Palooza
On Oct. 28 at 7:30 p.m., the Snow College Orchestra will be joined by local high school orchestras, including students from Gunnison Valley, Manti, North Sanpete, and Wasatch Academy, for an evening of collaborative performances. This free event is a wonderful showcase of young talent and musical mentorship.
Jazz Big Band & Spotlight Concert
The Snow College Jazz Big Band, under the direction of Steve Erickson, will perform on Oct. 29 at 7:30 p.m. Expect an exciting mix of soulful melodies and dynamic rhythms. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for youth and seniors.
November events
Vocal Point & Noteworthy Concert
On Nov. 1, experience the power and harmonies of two acclaimed a cappella groups, Vocal Point and Noteworthy, in concert. This is a must-see event for fans of vocal performance.
Founders Day Concert
Nov. 8 brings the Founders Day Concert, a celebration of Snow College’s rich musical heritage. It’s a great way to experience the talent of the students while recognizing the college’s history.
The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical
In mid-November, Snow College will present “The Lightning Thief,” a musical adaptation of Rick Riordan’s popular Percy Jackson novel. Running from Nov. 13-16 and 20-23, this production is sure to delight theater-goers of all ages with its mix of adventure and humor.
