Intermountain Health’s Manti Clinic has officially completed its expansion, bringing new healthcare services and providers to better serve residents of Sanpete County.

To celebrate the occasion, the Sanpete Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony last week, marking a significant milestone for the clinic that has served the community since 1987.

The expanded facility continues to offer integrated family, pediatric, and senior care, but now includes specialized services such as OB-GYN and telehealth consultations. Certified nurse midwife Elaine Thompson has joined the team and is now available every Monday to see patients.

“Certified nurse midwife Elaine Thompson is now here every Monday to see patients, and Dr. (Brian) May will start this summer,” said Tressa Hansen, practice manager at the clinic.

Later this summer, the clinic will also welcome May, a full-time OB-GYN, who expressed enthusiasm about becoming a part of the local medical community.

“I am excited to be coming here, and be integrated into the community,” May said.

May will work alongside an established team that includes family medicine physicians Dr. Zack Cowan and Dr. Michael Frischknecht, as well as physician assistant Clark Graham.

The clinic is also enhancing patient access to specialty care by expanding its telehealth offerings. Residents will now be able to consult remotely with Intermountain Health specialists across Utah, including experts in gastroenterology and behavioral health/psychiatry — all without leaving the clinic.

“We are just thankful to serve the community and support clinic growth,” said Frischknecht, who has been a familiar face in the community for years.
