The Snow College Fine Arts Division and Eccles Center for the Performing Arts have packed April with an exciting lineup of concerts, theatrical productions, dance showcases and art exhibits — highlighting the incredible talent and creativity of Snow College students and faculty.

From toe-tapping jazz to thought-provoking drama, there’s something for everyone in this month-long celebration of the arts.

On Thursday, the Percussion Studio Recital brings rhythm and energy to the Larsen Recital Hall, and on Friday, the Snow College Orchestra will perform Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5, a sweeping and emotional masterpiece led by Brent Smith.

Later in the month, the classic Henrik Ibsen drama “An Enemy of the People” runs April 16-19 and 21-24, offering a gripping story about truth, integrity and social responsibility.

For fans of improv, Snow’s comedy troupe “Badgers in a Bathtub” performs select Friday and Saturday nights at 8 p.m. in the Eccles Center Black Box Theatre. Admission is just $1, making it an affordable evening of fun.

April 21 is packed with events: a Production Showcase at 5:30 p.m. in the Larsen Recital Hall and the Student Composers Concert at 7:30 p.m. in the Jorgensen Concert Hall, both featuring original work by Snow students. Also on April 17, the “Spotlight” group will perform a high-energy Beatles tribute concert titled “Come Together.”

On April 25, enjoy “An Evening of Choral Masterworks,” including works by Karl Jenkins, John Rutter and J.S. Bach, under the direction of Michael Huff.

The Spring Dance Concert featuring both the Dance and Ballroom Companies will be held on April 25 at 7:30 p.m. and again on April 26 at 2 p.m. in the Kim Christison Theatre, showcasing a variety of styles and choreography.

The Eccles Center’s Annex Gallery will feature “Cardboard Construction” through Friday and a solo exhibit by Hannah Jensen from April 14-25. Meanwhile, in the Altspace Gallery (Humanities Building), visitors can enjoy works by Elizabeth Cheshire (April 7-18).

The month culminates with the Bachelor’s Degree Convocation on May 1 at 7 p.m., celebrating the achievements of graduating Music and Software Engineering students. This special event will be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person.

Tickets for most events are free or affordably priced. For full details and to purchase tickets, visit www.snow.edu/finearts or call 435-283-7478.
