Fun events ‘spring’ up in Sanpete County

• Fairview City’s Easter Egg Hunt will be at the Fairview Museum at 10AM on Saturday April 19th.

Say goodbye to winter blues and get happy by participating in any of the fun (and mostly free) events coming up here in Sanpete County this Spring. Mark your calendar today so you don’t miss your favorite events!

  • Swim at the Mt. Pleasant Aquatic Center for free on Monday nights throughout the month of April. Also at the Aquatic Center are lifeguard classes on April 12, April 19 and April 26 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Register in advance by calling 435 462-1333 or stop by the Aquatic Center to register in person. Those completing the course will have the $75 fee waived if they agree to work as a lifeguard at the pool.
  • Join Lifestyle and Well-Being classes every Tuesday from 2 to 3 p.m. starting April 8 and continuing for eight weeks at the Mt. Pleasant Senior Center. Improve your life, manage stress, increase your energy, defeat negativity and learn to eat better. Free for all, everyone welcome. Contact Jan Reese to register or for more information 435-851-0094.
  • Fairview City’s Easter Egg Hunt will be at the Fairview Museum at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 19. Due to the current cost of eggs no real eggs will be used in this event.
  • The Boob Bus will be in Mt. Pleasant on April 24 from 2 to 6 p.m. providing Mobile 3D Mammograms and Breast Ultrasound. The convenient screening takes only 20 minutes. The Boob Bus will be in Terrell’s parking lot. You can call 866-747-2662 for an appointment or to verify insurance, or just drop in.
  • Wasatch Academy in Mt. Pleasant is celebrating its 150th anniversary with a gala event on April 26 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. Food trucks, kids’ activities, games, performances and booths for all to enjoy. Free admission at Wasatch Academy 120 S. 100 West, Mt. Pleasant.
  • Visit the Home & Garden Show on April 25 and 26 in the Contoy Arena at 995 W. 1000 South, Mt. Pleasant. Free admission, from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 25, and all day Saturday, April 26. Enjoy live entertainment and line dancing on Friday evening and attend helpful home & garden workshops happening all day on Saturday. This event is a fundraiser for the Carney family.
  • Get your horse fix at The Skyline Eventing Park (next to the Contoy Arena) on May 2 to 4. Spectators are welcome to watch. Food and drinks are available as well as a swap-shop fundraiser to donate or purchase horse gear. Entry information for competitors can be found on the Skyline Eventing Park website.
  • Join the USA Flag Retirement Ceremony sponsored by VFW Post 9276 in Mt. Pleasant on Saturday, May 3. You can bring your retirement-ready flag to the firepit at Mt. Pleasant City Park. If you have a flag and can’t make it to the ceremony call Lynn B on 435-262-0341 to arrange pick up for your flag. All are welcome at this ceremony.
  • Saturday, May 3, from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Spring City Dog Clinic will be at the Fire Department building at 150 E. Center St., Spring City. Please check Spring City’s web page for more information on costs and what will be offered.
  • The fabulous Community Night Out returns to Mt. Pleasant City Park on Monday, May 5, from 5 to 7 p.m. Free dinner, raffles, prizes, health screenings with discount lab forms, fun family games, music, and more. Come meet our local heroes from the fire department and EMS. Climb inside the Life Flight helicopter and hug our local Avalanche Dog. Free admission.
