EPHRAIM — Snow College has received a $100,000 donation from Chevron’s ACES Delta project to support scholarships for students from Millard and Juab counties, college officials announced this week.
The funding will be used to help local students pursue education and training in high-demand fields tied to Utah’s evolving workforce, including technical, energy-related, and STEM-based programs. College leaders say the donation will help reduce financial barriers while creating stronger career pathways for students in rural communities.
The scholarships may be applied toward programs such as automation technology, welding, machining, engineering, geology and education, among others. Officials say these areas align closely with workforce needs across central Utah and the state’s growing energy and technical sectors.
“Chevron is proud to add Snow College and their Delta Training Site to the many education initiatives we support in Utah,” said Jonathan Perry, president and CEO of ACES Delta. “Delivering reliable, affordable, and cleaner energy will require new ways of thinking, and that begins with investing in rural Utah’s workforce.”
Snow College administrators emphasized the long-term impact the funding will have on both students and the surrounding communities.

“This generous investment from ACES Delta will directly support students from our surrounding communities as they prepare for meaningful, in-demand careers,” said Jay Olsen, vice president for technical education at Snow College. “By supporting technical and STEM education, ACES is helping ensure that students from Millard and Juab counties can gain the skills needed to thrive in emerging energy industries.”
The scholarships will be awarded to eligible students enrolled in designated programs. College officials said the funding reinforces Snow College’s mission to provide affordable, high-quality education that aligns with regional workforce needs while helping students graduate with minimal debt.
Snow College serves more than 5,000 students across campuses in Ephraim and Richfield, along with a learning center in Nephi. Founded in 1888, the college focuses on two-year degrees, technical education, and transfer pathways, with an emphasis on personalized instruction and career preparation.
ACES Delta is a joint venture between Chevron and Mitsubishi and operates a hydrogen facility in Delta. The project focuses on converting, storing, and delivering hydrogen as part of broader efforts to support cleaner energy solutions. Chevron has operated in Utah for more than 75 years and continues to invest in community partnerships across the state.
College officials said the donation reflects growing collaboration between industry and education to support rural students and ensure Utah’s workforce is prepared for future economic demands.
