This 10-day cultural event brings together taiko drummers from around the world to share their passion, perform in nature, and give back to the community through free concerts, workshops, and family-friendly cultural events.

Utah Taiko Experience Returns with Free Concerts & Workshops for All Ages
The vibrant heartbeat of Japanese taiko drumming is returning to Sanpete County this July, promising a cultural celebration like no other. The Utah Taiko Experience (UTE), a unique 10-day festival of rhythm, tradition, and community spirit, is back for its most exciting year yet–offering free concerts, hands-on workshops, and family-friendly events for residents and visitors alike.
From July 21 through July 26, locals will have the opportunity to witness and participate in a truly global gathering of taiko drummers. More than 30 performers from across the United States and abroad will converge in Central Utah to share their artistry and passion in a dynamic schedule of events designed to inspire and unite.
“We’re thrilled to bring something truly special to Sanpete County again this year,” said Razz Purcell, founder of the Utah Taiko Experience. “Taiko is powerful, fun, and deeply rooted in tradition–but more than anything, it builds community. This event gives local residents the chance to experience world-class music and culture right in their own backyard.”

A community united by rhythm
The Utah Taiko Experience is more than a music festival — it’s a celebration of cultural connection, creativity, and local pride. Through its outreach and partnership with Manti High School, UTE aims to give back to the community by encouraging participation in the arts and supporting youth programs.
“All proceeds and donations go directly to our local students,” added Purcell. “It’s about giving them access to music, performance, and the inspiration that comes from seeing something extraordinary.”
With its accessible events, welcoming atmosphere, and international talent, the Utah Taiko Experience offers something for everyone — from the curious first-time attendee to the seasoned cultural enthusiast.
