August is county fair time in Sanpete

The Sanpete County Fair RMPRA Rodeo will be held Thursday and Saturday, August. 21 and 23.
From entering homemade goods and home-grown produce to enjoying high-energy events including a rodeo, a demolition derby and a country music concert, the Sanpete County Fair will offer it all to local residents during August.
The fair is held at the Sanpete County Fairgrounds, 500 N. Main, Manti. For a full schedule of events and to purchase tickets and register for fair events, visit the fair’s website at sanpetecountyfair.net.
The 2025 fair officially begins Saturday, Aug. 16, with 4-H and Open Class exhibits accepted at the fairgrounds exhibit building that day. Perishable items (florals, baked goods, produce, etc.) will also be accepted on Monday, Aug. 18, and Tuesday, Aug. 19.
The public will be able to view the exhibits in the Exhibit Building at the fairgrounds beginning Wednesday, Aug. 20, from 3 to 6 p.m. and continuing from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Aug. 21-23.
The first exciting major event of the fair will be a live country music concert featuring Whitney Lusk to be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, in the Rodeo Arena at the fairgrounds. Tickets are $11 for all seats and can be purchased in advance at the fair’s website.

The annual Jr. Rodeo will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, in the Rodeo Arena, and on Wednesday, Aug. 20, the ATV Rodeo will be held in the arena.
On Thursday, Aug. 21, the annual carnival will open at the fairgrounds at 3 p.m. It will continue to operate on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 22 and 23. A day pass for the carnival can be purchased for $35 on the fair’s website.
The fair’s annual RMPRA Rodeo will be held Thursday, Aug. 21, and Saturday, Aug. 23, beginning at 7 p.m. in the Rodeo Arena. Tickets are $9 for Thursday night and $11 for Saturday night and may be purchased on the fair’s website. The rodeo will feature specialty act Felix Santana and barrelman Danger Dave Whitmoyer.
The popular Fun on the Farm exhibit will be open on Friday, Aug. 22, from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 23, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. This free exhibit is designed to be a fun way to help children learn about the importance of agriculture and where their food comes from.
An Open Class Pet Show for entrants 18 years older and younger will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 22, at the fairgrounds pavilion.

In the arena on the night of Friday, Aug. 22, the Demolition Derby will have cars crashing and the crowd cheering. The derby begins at 7 p.m.; tickets are $16 for grandstand seating and $11 for general admission (kids 2 and younger are free).
Saturday, Aug. 23, is full of fair activities, beginning with the Sanpete County Commission Breakfast at the fairgrounds pavilion at 7 a.m. This event is free of charge. The annual Junior Livestock Association Auction will begin at 10 a.m., and the annual Car Show will also be held beginning at 10 a.m.
At noon, the Cattleman’s Association Beef Dinner will be held at the fairgrounds pavilion, and the Manti City Pool will offer a free swim from noon to 2 p.m. The annual Horse Pulling Competition will be held at 1 p.m. in the fairgrounds arena.
At 2 p.m., watch entrants stuff their faces with dessert during the Pie-Eating Contest in the fairgrounds pavilion. Then, at 5 p.m., the annual Mammoth Parade will proceed down Manti’s Main Street.
