Music lovers in Spring City are in for a treat as the final concert of the year in the city’s concert series takes place on Friday, March 14, at 7 p.m. The event, held in the ballroom of the Community Center at 45 South 100 East, will feature the return of Jack Ashton’s Young Artists Chamber Players, or YACP.

YACP is an orchestra composed of the most talented high school string players from across the Wasatch Front. Founded in 1985 by Ashton, the group tours throughout Utah each spring, bringing exceptional performances to audiences statewide. This year, Spring City is once again fortunate to be a stop on their tour.

Jack Ashton, a renowned violinist and educator, was a member of the Utah Symphony for 49 years and taught orchestra at Olympus High School for 35 years. Despite his retirement from full-time teaching, he continues to work with private students, including some at Snow College.

Adding to the evening’s musical excellence, Spring City’s own Brian Stucki, a talented tenor and cellist, will join the orchestra for part of the program.

This concert is free to the public, but donations are welcome. Proceeds will go toward maintaining the grand piano donated to Spring City by the Bastian Foundation. Everyone is invited to enjoy this remarkable night of music and community.
