Snow College breaks ground on Innovative Agricultural Center

By Staff | Nov 5, 2025

Ephraim, UT – Snow College will host a groundbreaking ceremony for its new Innovative Agricultural Center on Wednesday, October 29, at 5:30 p.m

EPHRAIM Snow College was set to celebrate a major milestone in its expanding agriculture programs with the groundbreaking of a new Innovative Agricultural Center on Oct. 29.

Supported by a $2.4 million grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration, along with additional private and local funding, the new facility will strengthen the college’s hands-on learning opportunities and community partnerships.

The first phase, expected to be completed by summer 2026, will feature construction of an arena and core facilities designed to support new academic programs in Equine Therapy and Equine-Assisted Therapy. These additions will expand Snow’s agricultural education offerings while creating space for innovative training and outreach.

In addition to serving students, the new center will enhance campus and community life. Snow College’s Rodeo Team will gain a modern training space, and the arena will host student and public events such as Western Swing, a long-standing Snow College tradition known for bringing students together each fall.

Local economic benefits are also expected as regional contractors and workers are employed during construction.

Jay Olsen, vice president for technical education and workforce engagement, said the new facility represents a major step forward for Snow’s agriculture programs.

“This facility marks a milestone for Snow College’s growing agriculture programs and will serve as a hub for innovation, education, and opportunity,” Olsen said.

Founded in 1888, Snow College serves more than 5,000 students on its Ephraim and Richfield campuses, as well as through a learning center in Nephi. The college continues to focus on providing an affordable, personalized education that helps students graduate debt-free and ready for their careers.
