SPRING CITY — A beloved holiday tradition will once again take center stage as “Christmas A La Vivaldi” returns to the historic Spring City Hall Ballroom for its third annual performance on Friday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. The innovative classical work, composed by Nick Greer, blends Antonio Vivaldi’s iconic Four Seasons with cherished Christmas melodies, creating a festive musical experience that has delighted audiences across Utah and beyond.

The evening begins at 6 p.m. with an artist reception in the Spring City Arts Gallery. Hosted by Spring City Arts, the reception will feature desserts available for purchase from Das Café, giving attendees a perfect way to start the night with local art and holiday treats before settling in for the concert.

A world-class violinist takes the stage

This year’s performance will once again showcase the extraordinary talents of violinist Rosalie MacMillan, whose international reputation and electrifying stage presence have earned her accolades from critics and audiences alike.

Praised for her “vibrant, goose-bump-inducing flair” by The Salt Lake Tribune and known for her “wonderfully incisive playing” and “gorgeous tone” according to the Deseret News, MacMillan has performed on stages across the world–from Switzerland and South Africa to Brazil, Italy, and the United Kingdom. Her solo career has also included tours with the BYU Chamber Orchestra, featuring performances at the Bolshoi Hall of the Moscow Conservatory and the Cairo Opera House.

MacMillan’s musical journey began early, with her orchestral debut at age 13 under the direction of the renowned Joseph Silverstein. She later appeared regularly with the Utah Symphony and has soloed with numerous ensembles, including the BYU Philharmonic, Timpanogos Symphony Orchestra, and the Kamuela Philharmonic.

In addition to her classical credentials, MacMillan is known for bringing violin music into unexpected spaces–from ballroom dance and theater productions to jazz, pop, and rock concerts. She currently resides in Centerville with her husband, a world champion equestrian, and their three children.

A genre-blending holiday concert

“Christmas A La Vivaldi” is quickly becoming a favorite seasonal tradition for many Utah families. The work has garnered national attention, with portions performed by the National Symphony in Washington, D.C., and the Utah Symphony. It has also reached audiences internationally in Belgium and across the United States in Florida.

In Utah, the concert has toured widely, delighting music lovers in Kanab, Richfield, Helper, Price, Orem, South Jordan, Heber City and Bountiful.

This year’s Spring City performance will feature a chamber orchestra accompanying MacMillan, bringing Greer’s imaginative and festive score to life in the intimate and acoustically rich ballroom.

Bellview joins the celebration

Adding to the evening’s charm, the talented country/pop duo Bellview will join the chamber orchestra for a special musical set. The duo–Caydin and Summer–first met 11 years ago while serving as performing missionaries in Nauvoo, Illinois, and have been harmonizing together ever since.

Summer is a full-time musician who also spends her days raising their children, while Caydin works as a mechanical engineer with a passion for fly fishing. Based in Roy, Utah, the couple shares their love of music, sushi, and family camping adventures. Their warm harmonies and heartfelt performances have made them audience favorites across the region.

A night of community and song

In true holiday spirit, the evening will conclude with audience sing-alongs, inviting everyone to lift their voices in celebration of the season. The combination of world-class musicianship, community involvement, and festive participation makes the event one of the most anticipated December traditions in Spring City.

Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to arrive early for the art reception and stay for a musical experience that blends classical brilliance with holiday cheer.
