Snow College reports record gains in student retention and success

By Staff | Oct 22, 2025

More students are staying, progressing, and achieving their educational goals — a reflection of the college’s commitment to affordability, access, and personalized support.

EPHRAIM — Snow College is celebrating a wave of good news this fall, reporting record growth in student success, retention, and completion — clear signs that its focus on affordability and personalized support is paying off.

According to the latest enrollment report, overall enrollment is up 4%, general retention increased by 6%, and freshman retention rose by an impressive 12%. These gains come alongside a record 17% jump in student completions, one of the largest improvements in Snow College’s history.

“Students are choosing Snow College because they feel connected and supported here,” said President Stacee Yardley McIff. “Our students thrive because of the people who believe in them — dedicated faculty and staff who go above and beyond to help each student succeed. These results reflect the power of that commitment and community.”

Snow’s success comes at a time when many colleges across the country are facing enrollment challenges and a shrinking pool of traditional college-aged students. In response, Snow College has expanded its outreach and programming to reach learners from all backgrounds and life stages.

Among the new initiatives contributing to the growth are TechConnect, prison education programs, and the recently launched Bridge to Success initiative. Each program focuses on opening new pathways to higher education and ensuring that more students have the opportunity to complete a degree or credential.

Snow College is celebrating positive enrollment news marked by strong gains in student success, retention, and completion.

The Bridge to Success program, in particular, provides scholarships for students returning mid-semester from church or military service who need financial help to start or continue their studies.

“Snow has always been about opening doors,” said Cody Branch, Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. “Whether students are coming straight from high school, returning from service, or re-entering college later in life, we’re here to help them find their place and their purpose.”

The college’s consistent emphasis on affordability also continues to draw students. With low tuition rates and a personalized campus experience, Snow remains one of the most cost-effective higher education options in Utah while maintaining high academic quality.

Building on this momentum, Snow College plans to continue strengthening student support services, mentoring programs, and career pathways to help more students succeed — both on campus and beyond.

Founded in 1888, Snow College serves more than 5,000 students across campuses in Ephraim and Richfield, along with a learning center in Nephi. The college’s mission remains centered on helping students graduate debt-free, gain real-world experience, and prepare for future success.
