North Sanpete Daughters of Utah Pioneers resume camp meetings in September
The North Sanpete Company of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers is excited to announce that camp meetings will begin again this September. This international organization is dedicated to honoring and remembering the pioneer ancestors who settled Sanpete Valley and laid the foundation for the wonderful life we enjoy today.
Local DUP camps meet once a month for about an hour to an hour and a half. North Sanpete currently has two camps in Mt. Pleasant and one camp each in Spring City, Fairview, Moroni, Fountain Green, and Wales. Each gathering includes a pioneer-related lesson, the sharing of ancestor stories, the singing of pioneer songs, and of course, refreshments. It’s a meaningful way to celebrate heritage while building friendships with other women in the community.
Membership is open to all women with pioneer ancestry, but you don’t need pioneer relatives to participate — associate memberships are available as well.
Those interested in joining are encouraged to contact Laura Erickson, North Sanpete Company President, at 801-360-8848 for more information.
“Please help us keep our camps alive and growing,” Erickson said.
