Snow College announces February and March performing arts schedule

Snow College’s Fine Arts Division and the Eccles Center for the Performing Arts have announced a full slate of theatrical productions, concerts, improv performances, and art exhibitions scheduled for February and March at the Ephraim campus.
The Department of Theatre will present The Night Witches, written by Rachel Bublitz and directed by Jason Craig Smith, with performances scheduled for Feb. 12-14 and Feb. 19-21 at 7:30 p.m. Saturday matinees will be held Feb. 14 and Feb. 21 at 2 p.m. Performances will take place in the Haslam Black Box Theatre at the Eccles Center.
The Night Witches tells the story of the Soviet Union’s 588th Night Bomber Regiment, an all-female unit that flew canvas-and-wood aircraft on repeated nighttime bombing missions during World War II. The play follows two newly trained navigators preparing for their first combat mission, focusing on one pivotal evening as the women confront unexpected challenges through movement, song, and dialogue. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for youth and seniors.
Snow College Choirs will present I Lift My Lamp: America at 250 on Friday, Feb. 27, at 7:30 p.m. in the Eccles Center Jorgensen Concert Hall. Conducted by Dr. Michael Huff, the concert is described as a patriotic program recognizing the approaching 250th anniversary of the United States. Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $8 for youth and seniors.
Comedy audiences can attend performances by Snow College’s improv group, Badgers in a Bathtub, formerly known as L.T.I. Performances are scheduled at 8 p.m. on select Fridays and Saturdays throughout February and March in the Eccles Center Black Box Theatre. February dates include the 6th, 7th, 13th, 14th, 20th, 21st, 27th, and 28th. March performances are scheduled for the 13th, 14th, 27th, and 28th. Admission is $1, payable at the door.
March programming also includes the musical Bright Star, running March 19-21 and March 26-28, as well as a Wind Symphony and Symphonic Band concert on March 24. Additional performances include an ABBA Sing-Along on March 27 in Studio Blue and a Jazz Combo Concert on March 31.
In addition to live performances, Snow College will host several art exhibitions. The Annex at the Eccles Center will feature AFA thesis exhibitions by Aubrey Dixon from Feb. 2-13 and Britney Salcedo from Feb. 17-27. The Snow College Art Gallery in the Humanities Building is currently hosting POLARIZED: America 2015-2025, curated by Adam Larsen, on display through March 13. Altspace, also located in the Humanities Building, will present AFA thesis exhibitions by Cairo Taylor (Jan. 26-Feb. 6), Phoebe Bliss (Feb. 9-20), and GriffinaMae Peterlin (Feb. 23-March 13).
