Snow College’s Fine Arts Division and the Eccles Center for the Performing Arts have announced a full slate of concerts, plays, and live performances scheduled for late January and February, offering audiences in Sanpete County a wide variety of cultural and entertainment experiences.

The winter season begins on Jan. 27 with “An Evening of Concertos,” featuring the Snow College Wind Symphony. The concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the Eccles Center Jorgensen Concert Hall. Led by Christopher Nelson, the Wind Symphony will be joined by special guests Utah Premiere Brass, directed by Kirt Saville.

The program highlights virtuosic solo performances by David Harrison on trombone, Michela Toretan on alto saxophone, Douglas Peterson on clarinet, and trumpeters Michael Donaldson and Andrew Bean. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for youth and seniors.

Theater takes center stage in February with the Snow College production of “The Night Witches,” running Feb. 12-14 and again Feb. 24-28. The play explores the true story of a fearless group of female pilots during World War II and promises a powerful and engaging theatrical experience.

Music continues throughout the month with the Jazz Big Band Concert on Feb. 24, followed by a Choir Concert on Feb. 27.

In addition to scheduled concerts and productions, Snow College encourages patrons to check frequently for additional recitals, as dates and offerings may change throughout the semester.

Comedy fans can also enjoy Snow College’s popular improv group, Badgers in a Bathtub, formerly known as L.T.I. The troupe performs select Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. in the Black Box Theatre at the Eccles Center. Established in 2008, the group presents unrehearsed, audience-inspired sketches for an evening of spontaneous laughter. Admission is just $1, payable at the door.

A portion of ticket sales from all performances supports scholarships for Snow College performing arts students, with additional donation options available for the Departments of Dance, Music, and Theatre.

Tickets for all Fine Arts events may be purchased online at www.snow.edu/finearts or by calling the Eccles Center Box Office at 435-283-7478. The Eccles Center for the Performing Arts is located at 300 E. Center Street in Ephraim.

Starting at $4.32/week.
