250,000 books up for grabs in massive Tooele warehouse liquidation

By Staff | Jun 10, 2026

Massive warehouse sale offers rare books, collectible titles, fiction, nonfiction, children's books, history, religion, and more.

TOOELE — Book lovers, collectors, educators and bargain hunters may want to clear some space on their bookshelves as one of the largest used-book sales ever held in Utah opens to the public this week.

Eborn Books, one of the Intermountain West’s largest independent used and rare book dealers, has announced a major liquidation sale at its Tooele warehouse, where approximately 250,000 books must be sold to make room for future acquisitions.

The warehouse sale, which runs June 8 through June 15, offers the public a rare opportunity to browse through hundreds of thousands of books spanning nearly every genre imaginable. Organizers say visitors will find everything from history, literature and religion to science, genealogy, children’s books, collectible editions, out-of-print titles and general nonfiction.

The scale of the event is unlike anything most readers have seen.

Rows upon rows of books fill the warehouse, creating what organizers describe as a treasure hunt for readers and collectors alike. Whether someone is searching for a hard-to-find title, looking to build a personal library, stocking a classroom, or simply hoping to discover a new favorite author, the warehouse offers a vast selection at deeply discounted prices.

“This is a unique opportunity for readers and collectors to explore a warehouse containing hundreds of thousands of books,” said Bret Eborn, owner of Eborn Books. “Whether you’re searching for rare finds, filling a personal library, or simply looking for affordable books, there is something here for everyone.”

Adding to the excitement is the pricing. During the first week of the liquidation, books will be available for just $5 per box. Organizers say any remaining inventory the following week will be offered free to the public.

The sale is expected to attract a wide variety of visitors, including avid readers, book collectors, librarians, teachers, researchers, resellers and families looking to add affordable books to their homes.

Because the warehouse inventory is not typically available through traditional retail channels, many of the books have not been seen by the public before. Organizers encourage shoppers to arrive early for the best selection and to allow plenty of time to browse the extensive inventory.

Eborn Books has built a reputation throughout Utah and the Intermountain West as a destination for rare, used and collectible books, as well as maps, photographs and historical materials. The company serves collectors, researchers, institutions and readers through multiple retail locations along the Wasatch Front.

Company representatives note that books listed on the Eborn Books website are not located at the Tooele warehouse and are not included in the liquidation sale. The event is focused exclusively on the warehouse inventory.

For book enthusiasts, opportunities like this rarely come along. With a quarter-million books available and prices designed to move inventory quickly, the warehouse liquidation promises plenty of surprises for those willing to spend time exploring the shelves.
