Plan to attend Mt. Pleasant’s Hub City Days

Hub City Days events will be held this weekend and continue through July 4.

Mt. Pleasant City’s annual Hub City Days begins in earnest this weekend. This annual week-long event celebrates both the 4th of July and how great it is to live in Mt. Pleasant.

This year’s activities range from sporting events to a rodeo, music performances, a parade and a Family Street Dance and Color Throw.

A free concert in the park will be presented Sunday, June 28, at 7 p.m. in the Mt. Pleasant City Park, 12 W. 800 South. The program will a patriotic tribute featuring The Heart of Deseret Choir. Also, winners of the America 250 Mt. Pleasant Community Essay Contest will read their essays. Those attending should bring a blanket or lawn chairs to sit on.

The HubCity Days Family Street Dance and Color Throw will be held Monday, June 29, from 7 to 9 p.m. on Historic Main Street. Admission is free. The color throw — featuring red, white and blue powder — will take place at 8:15 p.m. DJ Fox will provide the music.

The annual Freedom Run will start the day off early on July 4. Participants can choose to run 1K, 5K or 10K. Those interested can register at mpcityut.gov. Packet pickup will be at 6 a.m. and the race will start at 6:30 a.m. at the North Sanpete High School Track.

The annual Hub City Rodeo will be held Thursday, Friday and Saturday, July 2, 3 and 4, at Mt. Pleasant Rodeo Grounds, 150 W. 1000 South. Tickets and Mutton Bustin’ signups are available online at mpcityut.gov/community/hub_city_rodeo.php.
