Photos of the interior of the temple were released to the media as part of the media day event and representatives of various media organizations were given guided tours through the building by church representatives.

The 39,000-square-foot structure is Sanpete County’s second temple and contains four 30-seat instruction rooms, three sealing rooms and one baptistry. Constructed next to Snow College, it is one of only four temples worldwide to be located next to the campus of a university or college.

The Ephraim temple, located at 200 N. 400 East in Ephraim, was announced on May 1, 2021, by Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints President Russell M. Nelson. Ground was broken for the temple on Aug. 27, 2022, with President Nelson making a surprise appearance at the groundbreaking.

The temple features stained-glass windows created by Holdman Studios in Lehi. Holdman Studios has created architectural art glass for projects in more than 100 countries, including more than 150 temples of the Church of Jesus Christ.

Inspired by Scandinavian folk art designs, the temple’s stained-glass windows feature designs depicting white forget-me-not flowers and wheat sheaves. The five-petaled white flowers and wheat motifs are also found in other elements of the temple, including the tile floors, carpeting, woodwork and light fixtures as well as gold-leaf designs on the walls and ceilings.

The Ephraim Utah Temple will be the Church’s 26th dedicated temple in Utah and one of 32 temples in the state that are operating, under construction or announced. The temple will be dedicated on Sunday, Oct. 11, at 10 a.m. with Elder Ronald A. Rasband of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles presiding at the dedication. The dedicatory session will be broadcast to all units in the temple district and rebroadcast at 2 p.m.

The open house will continue daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Saturday, Sept. 19 (excluding Sundays). The walking tour will last approximately 45 minutes and admission is free. All ages are welcome and no reservation is required to attend.

Visitors are invited to come as they are; comfortable shoes are suggested as the tour is a walking tour. The tour is wheelchair accessible. Service animals are not permitted in the temple. Those attending are asked to refrain from smoking, vaping or drinking on temple property. Large bags and belongings should be left inside of visitors’ vehicles.

Photos or videos are not allowed inside the temple. Restrooms are available on site and may be used before and after the tour. Drinking fountains are available throughout. Parking is available on site at the temple.
