Letter to the editor: Community helps to ensure Sub for Santa success
Dear Gunnison Valley Community,
Every year I think I’ve seen the full measure of generosity in this valley, and every year you prove me wrong. This year’s Sub for Santa effort was nothing short of extraordinary. Because of you, over 200 children in our community will have a Christmas filled with hope and joy. From personal hygiene items and food to clothes, toys, and thoughtful gifts and you provided it all. Your kindness continues to amaze me.
As the principal of Gunnison Valley High School, I get a front-row seat to the way this project comes together. I watch students light up as they help, staff members pitch in without hesitation, and community members quietly give more than anyone will ever know. I am always in awe as I see the very best of humanity show up right here in our valley. Your willingness to support those in need not only blesses families but also gives our students a powerful and meaningful service opportunity providing an experience that teaches them goodness, compassion, and what it truly means to be part of a community.
So from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU! Thank you for caring for those around you, for lifting our students as they learn through service, and for proving once again that there is real good in the world. I am grateful and humbled to serve such an incredible community.
With deep gratitude,
